Patch Archive 5 - The Lost Bank
-------------------------------

This is a miscellaneous bank made up of entries I had lying around my mailbox, most of which were submitted after the Patch Archive stopped running. I've collated all I can and bunged them in here - they might as well see the light of day! Some of them _may_ have been used elsewhere, I can't remember...

There were a few more entries, but they were either missing, broken or corrupted files, and it's been too long to remember exactly why. Anyway, have a play with these!

This bank will go to RAM1, on Midi channel 1.

RAM1 -00 Virtual Strings

Performance Name: Virtual Strings

 Author : Dave Dirckx
Sound Type : Strings for movies or whatever
 Location : RAM1 -00
 Patches Used : Strs, Strwv
 WaveSeqs Used : Anstrwv
 Requirements : EX
 Date : 30 nov 1996

Comments : These strings are not intended to sound superclean, but
rather useable to give a special atmosphere. When you use
aftertouch on these strings, youll hear that the filter
opens, which give a nice expression effect. The modulation
wheel opens also the filter (of the (low) analog strings that
are used). The strings are suitable to play in single notes
and also good with chords. I recommend to play them always in combination with a lower bass note, this gives always a fuller
sound. Dont hesitate to change the effect settings in poly
mode to get a more spacy sound (phaser 1 or multi tap delay for example).

RAM1 -01 Bass

Performance Name: Bass, String, Piano, Piano,

 Author : Norsez Orankij-anant <jrhx@internet.ksc.net.th>
Sound Type : Percussion, Bass, String, Piano
 Location : RAM1 -01,03,04,09,11
 Patches Used :
 WaveSeqs Used : -
 Requirements : -
 Date : 19 May 97

Comments : This is how I use my wavestation A/D. I view it as a crappy
MiniMoog. I love to sculpt every sounds from scratch and use
them as raw as you hear from my midi file. For the piano (it's
not really a piano) and bass sound, they show how I emulate
                 resonant filter with hard sync.

RAM1 -02 JG Clavecimbel1

 Performance Name: JG Carillion

Author : Jos van Gemert <jge@worldonline.nl>
 Sound Type : bells
 Location : RAM1 -02
 Patches Used : jg carillion
 WaveSeqs Used : --
 Requirements : --
 Date :
Comments : A carrilion is an instrument consisting of a lot of bells,
that are brought to sound by a hammer mechanism. You mostly
find it it the top of a church-tower. Most typical of the
sound is the minor third (third wave in the patch).

RAM1 -03 String
RAM1 -04 Piano
RAM1 -05 JG carillion

 Performance Name: JG Clavecimbel

Author : Jos van Gemert <jge@worldonline.nl>
 Sound Type : keyboards
 Location : RAM1 -05
Patches Used : jg Clavecimbel and Superclav (rom)
 WaveSeqs Used : --
 Requirements : --
 Date :
Comments : The sound is made as bright as possible (without
distorting), as is typical for a lot of Clavecimbels
from the Barok period. Especially short notes and quick
                 passages sound well.

RAM1 -06 Concrete Laser

Performance Name: Concrete Laser

 Author : Brett Kaplan, RadioWind@aol.com
Sound Type : A spacey, pseudo-resonant, flanged stereophonic
                  extravaganza.
 Location : RAM1 -06
 Patches Used : Flakelite, Quasar
 WaveSeqs Used : None
 Requirements : Any Wavestation
 Date : January 18, 1997

Comments : Hold down a key in the lower register and listen to sound
evolve. AT and MW change the intensity of the effects.
Apply one or the other briefly at strategic points to enhance the motion. Joystick affects sound mix.

RAM1 -07 Recoil Basslead

Performance Name: Recoil Basslead

 Author : Christian Dettner <christian.dettner@hamburg.netsurf.de>
 Sound Type : Bass, Lead
 Location : RAM1 -07
 Patches Used : Recoil
 WaveSeqs Used : Pres01
 Requirements : -
 Date : 28 Jun 1997
Comments : Very nice bass sound when played on low keys, also playable as a
lead sound on higher notes. Velocity controls resonance, wheel up
adds more chorus. Delay should be used for playing rhythmic
sequences, also use the pitch bender while playing short notes to
get a bit of the typical accent/glide techno-like feeling.

RAM1 -08 Spacer

Performance Name: Spacer

Author : Steve Stippec aka Honest Steve <honest1@airmail.net>
Sound Type : Psychedelic pulsating pad
 Patches Used : Spacer
 Wave Seqs Used: None used
 Requirements : WS EX
 Date : July 5 1997

Comments : This is an emulation of my Kawai Synthesizer 100F monosynth.
Before I got my WS I used to run the Kawai through phaser
and delay guitar pedals to get a sound similar but not as big
as this. Use the mod wheel to make the pulsing more choppy.

RAM1 -09 Percussion
RAM1 -10 Sco/are

 Performance Name: Sco/are

 Author : Terry Engelbrecht <evaluna@global.co.za>
                 <evaluna@usa.net> http://home.global.co.za/~evaluna
Sound Type : Tense, soundtracky type thing
 Location : RAM1 -10
Patches Used : Tension, Iso new^, Iso new, Iso new 2^,R-wah5
 WaveSeqs Used : S1, S2, S3, Drippy1
Requirements : May use WS A/D waves? Not sure if they are available
                 on other WS models
 Date : Jan 97

Comments : Best played(and held) in lower regions of keyboard -
sounds less ominous up high. Give it a couple of
seconds to develop - SMPTE sync the second hit to a
scary bit in your schlock horror masterpiece and,
                 presto! ;^)
